weddings

Your wedding day is your story and no one elses will be quite like it. I will document your day as it unfolds, photographing everything from the big moments to the small details in a beautiful and natural way so you can re-live it time and time again

You’re engaged! Congratulations!

Now time for the planning and booking and the fun! Once your venue is booked and you have the date, it’s a good idea to get your photographer booked fairly soon.

They have to not only take photos that you love for a price you can afford but they’re going to be at your wedding all day so you want to get someone that you like and that you’re happy to have around!

As well as my camera, I bring a friendly face, an easy going attitude and so much wedding experience that I’ll make your day easier and less stressful. (I’ve been known to lace up the brides dress and help mend button holes in an emergency before.)

More than anything I would love to tell your story.

What to expect

Once you’ve decided that you’d like me to be your photographer (we can meet before this point for a casual getting to know you a little chat), we’ll arrange a meeting, ideally at your venue, so when the day comes, you’ll feel more relaxed. It also means you’ll have a familiar face at the end of the aisle (other than the person you’re marrying!).

On the day

On the actual day, I will mostly snap away discreetly, capturing those magical and fun moments all around you as the day unfolds.

As well as this unobtrusive photography, I offer a short session with the two of you alone if you want it. I don’t think this needs to go on for too long – 15-20 minutes is usually ample. You want to look back on your day having had the most fun ever with all your lovely guests rather than posing in front of the lens for a couple of hours. I’ll get lots of photos of the two of you together naturally throughout the day. Again, I know that most people want a few posed group shots and it’s lovely having a lasting record of those important people being part of your day but I’d try to limit it if possible. I’ll aim to capture everyone anyway, more naturally, enjoying your day.

So, I’ll arrive as you’re getting ready to get some of the excitement and anticipation of what lies ahead. These are often some of my favourite photos and a really lovely to time capture. It’s often the part of the day that gets forgotten so I love getting those moments  – the nerves and excitement of everyone, the makeup and the line of dresses/suits and shoes and the laughter as you reminisce with those closest to you. These are the photos that tell of the relationships between friends and help build a complete picture of your wedding day.

From there I get guests arriving at the venue and the wedding party of course. Then on to the main event. I’ll be at the front of the aisle but out the way so most people won’t even know I’m there. Having a photographer bouncing around at the front can be so distracting for everyone so I try to position myself well and discretely to get the best images without being noticed too much. After the ceremony there’ll be pictures of everyone leaving the ceremony and greeting you as they congratulate you both. This is a great time to get shots of everyone happy and relaxed (apart from the speech givers perhaps…).

The only time I’m not on the look out for the next shot is during the meal when I think everyone should be able to eat without thinking about unflattering mouthful of food shots. So, I take photos of you as you join your guests for some food but then leave you for a while until speeches which is another of my favourite bits. The nerves, the reactions, the love, the laughter and the relief.

Then for a bit of cake cutting and dancing. I’ll stay for a bit of the party until I’m happy that I’ve captured enough to complete the story of your day.

It may be that this is nothing like the running of the day you have planned but this is just to give you an idea of coverage.

After the wedding

I’ll go away, edit them down, selecting the best to work on, tweaking to get the light, colour and crop just right and converting some to black and white if they’ll benefit from it. You’ll end up with around 400-500 images on a web gallery within 5-7 days for you to share with family and friends. You’ll have the album pdf proof within 2-3 weeks and you’ll only have to wait another 14 days to receive the album after giving me the go ahead to print. This will come with a disc or USB of all the edited images, print ready, for you to use as you wish.

For a complete story of your wedding day documented and recorded with web gallery, and beautiful album and all images edited and print ready on a DVD or USB stick, the price is £1,295.

If this package doesn’t quite fit your wedding, please get in touch. For example if you’re opting for a small intimate wedding or you want shorter coverage, I’m happy to create a package that fits your needs.

I’ve kept a limited portfolio on here. You can see more on my blog or on my Facebook page. If you’d like to see a web gallery of a complete wedding to give you an idea of coverage, please contact me using the form on here or by email carrie@carriejeffreysphotography.co.uk or call 07903 525212.
